Micro-blogging Website Twitter is testing a new Attribute on Android that Places news stories at the Peak of the Deadline to help users keep up with what is happening around the world.
“With this upgrade, we’re making it simpler for people to see the stories and news their followers have been talking while they’ve been off right on very top of their deadline,” Mashable quoted Wally Gurzynski, Product Manager, Twitter as saying on Tuesday.
The feature comes with a prompt which states -“Catch up on what has happened while you were away”.
Earlier in 2015 and 2016 Twitter released”While you were away” and”Never miss a significant tweet” attributes but they weren’t to specifically highlight news stories.
This feature, however, instead of just surfacing popular and interesting tweets, focuses on news reports from news organisations and agencies.
This catching-up using the news test attribute is in accord with the other evaluations that Twitter is running and are aimed at following specific conversations and newsworthy events simpler, the report added.
The feature-test roll-out to get iOS users and its own final release plans remain unclear as of today.
