The Karnataka government Sunday allowed Taxi aggregator Ola to resume its service That Was suspended two days back for Jogging Bicycle Flights Without Consent.

“Ola Cabs will run their business as normal out of now.

Matrix Partners India, an investor in Ola Cabs, appreciated fast resolution of the issue. “This rate of resolution is much appreciated and augurs well for the new India! Excellent to see younger ministers shedding the ways of their old ones and promoting innovation and speed,” Matrix Partners India Founder and Managing Director Avnish Bajaj said.

The Karnataka transportation department had on Friday suspended the licence of cab aggregator Ola for just six months, saying it had been running bike taxis without permission.

“As Ani Technologies Pvt Ltd (Ola Cabs), Bangalore, has broken the Karnataka On-demand Transport Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016, and in the background of the report submitted by the Deputy Transport Commissioner and senior Regional Transport Officer, Bangalore (South), the aggregator license issued to it till June 19, 2021 was suspended for 6 months under the principles,” the order dated March 18 had said.

Ola in reaction to the arrangement had stated it is a law-abiding business that has always worked with the government to come up with livelihood, improve mobility, and empower a new technology market. Noting the Karnataka On-demand Transport Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016, has come into effect from April 2016, the department had said the license issued to Ola Cabs beneath rules was for app-based taxi service (engine cabs), rather than for bicycle taxi services.
