iOS 12.1.2 Update With Bug Fixes for eSIM Activation on 2018 iPhone Models

Apple has Launched iOS 12.1.2 as a new software update for all the compatible iPhone Versions.
Unlike some of the recent versions, the latest iOS upgrade doesn’t include any noticeable changes but comes with couple of bug fixes to improve the experience. The iOS 12.1.2 upgrade fixes bugs related to eSIM activation for the all the newest iPhone models, including the iPhone XR$70,849, iPhone XS$94,312, and iPhone XS Max. It also allegedly contain software tweaks to deal with the ongoing patent battle with Qualcomm, especially in China. Especially, the iOS 12.1.2 upgrade is limited to iPhone models only.
Among other modifications, the official changelog states the iOS 12.1.2 update carries bug fixes for eSIM activation on the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The update also addresses an issue that could impact cellular connectivity in Turkey especially on all the 2018 iPhone versions.

Apple’s formal support page which lists its security upgrades confirms that iOS 12.1.2 doesn’t have any published CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) entries. However, as a previous Reuters report, the most recent software update includes software tweaks from China to address”any potential issue” about Apple’s compliance with a court order that prohibited the sales of its elderly iPhone models.

Last week, Qualcomm stated in a statement that a Chinese court had ordered a ban on sales of some older iPhone models for violating two of its patents. The list of worried iPhone models included all elderly from the iPhone 6s$19,499 through the iPhone X.

Moreover, the two Qualcomm patents which were taken under account from the court were allegedly related to switching between apps and resizing and reformatting photos before placing them as a background.

The Way to download iOS 12.1.2 upgrade
The iOS 12.1.2 upgrade can be used with all the iPhone models running iOS 12. To download and install the most recent version on your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Your device should use a Wi-Fi connection to download the over-the-air update. Also, it is recommended to back up your information, and ensuring your device has over 50 percent of cost or connected to a power supply before beginning the upgrade process.
